I had the opportunity to sit down with Amy, the owner and sex guru of The Love Shack Boutique located here in San Antonio, Texas. Let me tell you… this chick is awesome! This certified sex educator is on a mission to empower and educate women through her classes and local store. Her boutique has been so successful… they are even opening a SECOND location!
2022 marks 10 years of business for The Love Shack Boutique. I am so grateful Amy found a few minutes in her busy schedule to share a little about her store. Below is the information she shared with me when I asked her about her business.
“The Love Shack Boutique is a locally woman-owned and operated upscale erotic boutique. We are located in the medical center in San Antonio, our address 1580 Babcock Road. The Love Shack Boutique was inspired by all the women I have met over the 11 years doing in-home parties. I wanted to create a nice upscale shopping experience unlike anything else in San Antonio.
Our store offers couples and individuals a fun, upscale and courteous atmosphere in which to shop, inquire and learn. Your experience in our retail boutique is different than that of a typical adult novelty shop or sex toy store. We offer workshops taught by certified sex educators and demos of our carefully-selected toy collection for you to touch and explore. Our boutique offers the highest quality, body-safe products for enhancing your sexual experience. Lubricants and body treats have testers as well, so you can compare texture, tastes and scents. The Love Shack Boutique features quality lingerie and corsets ranging in sizes from small – 4x, bachelorette party supplies, novelties, sex toys / adult toys and more.

We were honored by The University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA) Business Development Center, as a Small Business Leader in the areas of job creation and business development. I was honored by receiving the Inspiration Award from The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at their Annual Women’s Awards Luncheon “Making a Mark on the World” – Women who Inspire, Innovate and Impact the World Around Us. The most exciting award we have received is being voted as the # 1 Adult Store by The San Antonio Current’s Best of San Antonio, for the past nine years in a row. This high honor is thrilling and humbling, because it was made possible by my great employees, and especially, our fantastic and supportive customers. I am a certified sex educator through the American College of Sexologists. I also have a B.A. from The University of Texas-San Antonio (UTSA). As a business owner and active community member, I am a professional associate of the following organizations: National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF), The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and I currently serve on the Board of Directors for The San Antonio Women’s Chamber of Commerce. I am also a co-founder for the women’s networking group, Women and Wine on Wednesdays.”
